Getting Started

1. Verify Device Compatibility: Note the brand and model number of each device you plan to control (receiver, soundbar, TV, streaming device, DVD player, etc.). Check your device’s user manual or back panel for model information.

2. Install Batteries: Insert 4 AAA batteries into the battery compartment, ensuring correct polarity as indicated inside the battery door. On rechargeable models, plug USB charging cable into charging port and allow 2-3 hours for full charge.

3. Download Free Companion Mobile App: Visit Apple App Store or Google Play on your smartphone/tablet to download the universal remote control app (free download, no subscription required).

4. Activate Bluetooth Pairing Mode: Press and hold the Setup or Bluetooth button on your remote for 3-5 seconds until the LED indicator blinks blue, indicating Bluetooth pairing mode is active and ready for app connection.

5. Search for Your Devices in the App: Use the app’s search function to locate each audio component by brand and model number. The app automatically loads the correct infrared command codes—no manual entry needed.

6. Program Your 5 Activity Buttons: Assign specific devices to your activity buttons using the app interface. Create custom sequences like “Movie Night” (activate TV, soundbar, and receiver) or “Music Time” (activate stereo and streaming device).

7. Assign Streaming Service Shortcuts: Program your 3 streaming shortcut buttons to Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime, or other services you use daily for instant access.

8. Test All Critical Functions: Test volume up/down, input selection, power on/off, and channel navigation before fully relying on your programmed remote. Verify each device responds correctly.

9. Optimize Component Placement: Position your audio receivers and components where the remote has clear access to their infrared receiver windows, typically 1-2 meters away from your seating area.

10. Save Your Configuration: Many apps allow cloud backup of your complete programming—create a backup for quick restoration if remote is lost or reset occurs.

11. Fine-Tune Macro Sequences: Adjust timing delays between commands in your macros to ensure devices power up and respond in proper sequence without conflicts.

12. Enable Find My Remote Feature: Activate the app’s Find My Remote option so you can trigger the beeper from your phone when the remote goes missing in couch cushions.
